UBF is one of the most experienced surety companies in Latin America, serving its clients in Brazil since 1993. The company is also able to issue surety bonds in other countries through its network of surety companies that issue “fronting” policies on behalf of UBF.

UBF is member of Panamerican Surety Associaton (“APF”), institution that embraces the main players, insurers and reinsurers, of the surety and credit insurance industries worldwide.

UBF is also member of Exporters Insurance Company Ltd. (“EIC”), a Bermudian based insurance company specialized in credit insurance and political risk insurance, which has been also becoming more active in the surety industry worldwide.

In the last recent years, UBF has issued more than US$2,0 billion in completion guarantees to protect lenders in project finance arrangements.

In 2003, due to its product development initiatives, UBF received an award by Brazilian Academia Nacional de Seguros e Previdência (“ANSP”). The awarded case was “Completion Bonds in Project Finance arrangements”.

In 2004, UBF was again awarded by ANSP, this time with the case of guarantees to protect capital markets investors, holders of a debt instrument issued by rural producers to finance crop season.
